On May 6, 2025, a press conference will be held at the headquarters of the Press Association of Madrid organized by an English law firm. This firm is organizing a collective defense action against the abusive practices of the Spanish Tax Agency.
The firm, alarmed by the numerous English citizens who have moved their residence to Spain applying the so-called “Beckham Law” and then suffered harassment by the Spanish tax inspectorate, has taken the initiative to denounce the abusive practices that were already denounced in the so-called “Granada Declaration”, a manifesto signed in 2018 by 35 professors of tax law.
It is time for civil society to defend itself against a practice that resembles, in the words of the aforementioned office, that of the Russian tax administration.
