According to a press release issued by the provincial prosecutor’s office of Madrid on December 7, the latter has reported three soccer players for alleged tax offenses and is investigating two more.
The statement reads as follows:
“The public prosecutor’s office, as a result of the data sent by the Tax Agency, has filed a complaint against three taxpaying soccer players. In the same way, it keeps open investigation proceedings that affect two other soccer players liable for taxation.”
The first ones would be, according to El Mundo, Xabi Alonso, Angel di MarĂa and Ricardo Carvalho. The investigation would derive from information provided to the prosecutor’s office by the Tax Agency.
